Product Description of Aramid cloth

Aramid cloth, also known as Kevlar fabric, aramid fiber fabric, or aramid fabric, is a type of fabric with insulation and thermal insulation.

1. Aramid fiber untwisted roving fabric is mainly made of Aramid 1414 filament, which is composed of parallel primary fibers or parallel single fibers bundled together. The single filament diameter of aramid fibers used in the production of coarse yarn varies from 5 to 15 μ m. The count of untwisted coarse yarn ranges from 100 to 8000 (tex). Untwisted coarse yarn can be directly used in certain composite material processing methods, such as special tex2. Aramid non-woven fabric, felt sheet, aramid paper, used for insulation and insulationtiles, sheet pre impregnation, pipeline winding, profile extrusion, etc. Untwisted yarn can be woven into untwisted coarse yarn fabric and special aramid fabric due to its uniform tension, which is used in special industries such as aerospace, national defense, and military industry.

There are mainly low weight aramid plain weave fabrics and one of the bulletproof fabrics; Aramid weft free fabric, also known as UD bulletproof fabric; Aramid unidirectional fabric, used in situations where high strength is required in a single direction at 0 degrees longitude or 90 degrees latitude, such as structural repair, seismic reinforcement, building reinforcement, bridge reinforcement, etc; Decorative aramid fabric can also be woven into twill aramid fabric and colored aramid fabric.

2. Aramid non-woven fabric, felt sheet, aramid paper, used for insulation and insulation

3. Aramid fiber twisted fine gauze, aramid fabric, aramid fabric, mainly using aramid 1313 or a small amount of 1414 short fibers

(1) Aramid fiber twisted fine gauze mainly refers to various fabrics woven by twisting aramid 1313 or a small amount of 1414 short fiber yarn. Mainly used in fields such as fire prevention and flame retardancy. The characteristics of a fabric are determined by fiber properties, warp and weft density, yarn structure, and texture. The warp and weft density is determined by the yarn structure and texture. The combination of warp and weft and yarn structure determines the physical properties of a fabric, such as weight, thickness, and fracture strength. There are five basic weaving patterns: plain, twill, satin, ribbed, and mat.

(2) Aramid twisted ribbons are divided into woven edge bands (smooth edge bands) and non-woven edge bands (rough edge bands). The main weaving method is plain weave. Used for manufacturing electrical equipment components with high strength and good dielectric properties, as well as automotive hoses.

(3) Aramid curtain fabric, which is a twisted unidirectional aramid fabric impregnated with glue, is characterized by high strength in the 0 degree warp or 90 degree weft direction. The warp unidirectional fabric is a four warp broken satin or long axis satin fabric woven from coarse warp and fine weft yarns, used for aircraft tires and high-end automotive tires.

(4) Compared to flat fabrics, three-dimensional fabrics have developed their structural characteristics from one-dimensional and two-dimensional to three-dimensional, which makes composite materials reinforced with them have good integrity and shape imitation, greatly improving the interlayer shear strength and damage resistance tolerance of composite materials. It has developed with the special needs of sectors such as aerospace, aviation, weapons, and ships. Currently, its applications have expanded to sectors such as automobiles, sports equipment, and medical equipment. There are mainly five types: machine woven three-dimensional fabrics, knitted three-dimensional fabrics, orthogonal and non orthogonal non-woven three-dimensional fabrics, three-dimensional woven fabrics, and other forms of three-dimensional fabrics. The shapes of three-dimensional fabrics include block, column, tube, hollow truncated cone, and variable thickness irregular cross-section.

(5) The shape of the irregular fabric is very similar to the shape of the product it is intended to enhance, and it must be woven on a dedicated loom. Asymmetric shaped fabrics include round covers, cones, caps, dumbbell shaped fabrics, and can also be made into asymmetric shapes such as boxes and ship shells.

(6) Slot core fabric is a fabric composed of two parallel layers connected by longitudinal vertical bars, with a cross-sectional shape that can be triangular or rectangular.

(7) Knitted fabrics, also known as knitted felt or woven felt, are different from ordinary fabrics and from the usual sense of felt. The most typical knitted fabric is a layer of warp and weft yarns that overlap and are woven together through sewing to form a fabric.

4. Combination aramid fabric

The aramid composite fabric is composed of aramid felt, aramid untwisted coarse yarn fabric, and aramid untwisted coarse yarn in a certain order.

Typical uses

1. High impact and crack resistance

Aramid fibers have excellent impact resistance and do not break under pressure due to their toughness and ability to absorb large amounts of energy.

2. Low density/weight

Aramid fibers have an extremely low weight, which is an advantage in the manufacture of composite materials.

3. Moderate stiffness, between glass fiber and carbon fiber
4. Wear resistance

Aramid fiber composites are already widely used in parts that wear easily, such as anti-skid plates that protect racing car engines.

5. Low dielectric constant

The dielectric constant of the aramid fiber composite is as low as ~ 3.85(10GHz), which ensures the good performance and strength of signal penetration of the aramid shield/radome.

6. Other features

Aramid fiber has low thermal expansion characteristics, is very stable at high temperatures, almost zero, thermal expansion coefficient is slightly negative, equivalent to (-2.4x10-/ºC). Aramid fibers are good insulators and do not conduct electricity.

7. Mixed composite materials processed with other fabrics

Aramid fiber fabrics can be parameterized as needed for carbon fiber composites and glass fiber composites, providing multiple possibilities for suppliers of composite products.

What is the difference between carbon fiber cloth and aramid fiber cloth?

The manufacturer of aramid fiber cloth pointed out that carbon fiber cloth and aramid fiber cloth are two essential engineering reinforcements in the structural reinforcement circle. For practitioners who have just entered the structural reinforcement circle, they feel that there is no difference between carbon fiber cloth and aramid fiber cloth. It is all about improving the bearing capacity of the board or beam and enhancing the compressive strength of the beam guardrail board; Reinforce or enhance circular constraints on the cross-sectional structure of the column head. But in reality, there may be some differences in their characteristics and applications. So, how can we distinguish the difference between carbon fiber cloth and aramid cloth?

Different tensile strength

Carbon fiber cloth is made by hand weaving carbon fiber material filaments, with a specified tensile strength of 3400MPa; And aramid fiber cloth is made by hand weaving aramid fibers, with a tensile strength of only 2100MPa. Looking at physical properties alone, carbon fiber cloth is better than aramid fiber cloth.

The conductivity can vary, and its main uses are different

The manufacturer of aramid fiber cloth claims that aramid fiber is non-conductive, so it is obviously not suitable to use carbon fiber cloth in structures with a lot of electricity consuming machinery and equipment such as subway stations and factories. In addition, when using carbon fiber material for reinforced concrete buildings, it is best to ensure that it is protected from electrochemical reactions with building steel bars, and the application of aramid fiber is not limited by this standard. When reinforcing general building structures, carbon fiber materials have significant advantages in terms of tensile strength and elastic modulus.

The destruction methods of the two are different

The failure mode after bonding steel reinforcement is ductility (with small structural deformation, high elastic modulus of carbon cloth, and low tensile strength), without significant signs. Therefore, as an overall design, it is necessary to choose a high level of safety performance; The elastic modulus of aramid fiber cloth is low and the tensile strength is high. According to experimental results, it has been confirmed that after being reinforced with aramid fiber cloth outsourcing, the entire process of damage in plain concrete engineering is still plastic deformation.

The penetration ability of weather resistant adhesive varies

The manufacturer of aramid fiber cloth believes that both aramid fiber and epoxy resin are organic materials with strong fusion ability; Carbon fiber cloth is an inorganic material, and its infiltration ability may differ from aramid fibers, requiring several practical operations.

Carbon fiber cloth and aramid cloth have significant differences in tensile strength and elastic molds. And carbon fiber cloth is conductive, while aramid cloth is not. This difference determines that the main uses of the two are different
