1K carbon fiber
1K carbon fiber: It is a very rare fiber that is lighter than other fibers and very expensive. It is often used for surface finishing, and most companies cannot even calculate the stress inside the weaving.

1K carbon fiber filament contains 1000 single filaments. Similarly, 3K is 3000 filaments because the manufacturing process is very complicated The size of the K number is related to the resistance. The larger the K number, the smaller the resistance. When used for heating, the smaller the resistance, the greater the heat generation and power of an electric heating wire of the same length. If used for reinforcement, the larger the K number, the higher the strength As for the reason why 1k is more expensive than 3k, it is due to labor issues. The process of 1k will be more complex than 3k, but 3k is the most cost-effective carbon fiber. Simply put, the grid sizes of 1k and 3k are different.

2K carbon fiber
2K carbon fiber: It is the rarest carbon fiber on the market, currently manufactured by no more than 2 carbon fiber manufacturers worldwide. It can endow carbon fiber board with perfect rigidity, low weight, and good vertical compliance (comfort), but it is also very expensive.
3K carbon fiber
3K carbon fiber: the most popular and common type of carbon fiber. It can bring a classic carbon fiber appearance to carbon fiber boards. 3K is the main force of carbon fiber, which is lightweight, relatively sturdy, and easy to manufacture. The elongation at break and ultimate strength at 3K are higher than those at 6K, 9K, or 12K.
Due to 3K being a smaller fiber bundle, it can weave thinner fabrics than 12k and can also be used to wrap thin tubes with fine filaments. It is mainly used in aviation, industry, construction, sports, leisure products, etc., with a typical linear density of 198 grams/1000m.
6K carbon fiber
6K carbon fiber: Using 6K is easier to wet than 12K and has better drape effect. It is used in aerospace, building reinforcement, automotive modification and other fields, with a linear density of 396 g/1000m.
12K carbon fiber
12K carbon fiber: Most carbon fiber manufacturers may use 12K to reduce costs because the fabric is cheaper than other K-number fabrics. 12K is easier to produce, requires less work, and is also cheaper. It has higher tensile strength, but is not suitable for certain parts of bicycles. It is used for military, industrial robots, and scientific equipment, with a line density of 800g/1000m.
24K and 48K carbon fiber
24K and 48K carbon fiber: mainly industrial grade carbon fiber, traditionally used for manufacturing filters, insulation, workwear sewing, soft furniture, and mattress manufacturing.

There are three common specifications for carbon fiber: K, T, and M. What do they represent?
K-wire bundle size
K refers to the number of carbon fiber filaments in a bundle of carbon fibers. 1K refers to a bundle of carbon fibers with 1000 single fibers, while 3K refers to a bundle of carbon fibers with 3000 single fibers. Therefore, K can be measured in thousands. The commonly used ones are 1K, 3K, 6K, and 12K. Generally speaking, 1K, 3K, 6K, 12K, and 24K are referred to as small fiber bundles; 48K, 60K, 80K, 120K and above are called large fiber bundles.
In terms of strength, the smaller the K number, the lower the strength, but in terms of price, those with smaller K numbers are actually more expensive, in reverse proportion. Due to its lightweight and high-strength characteristics, small fiber bundles of carbon fiber are commonly used in the aerospace industry, such as helicopter rotor blades, wing components, propellers, seats, and instrument casings. 3K and 12k are the most popular materials widely used in industrial fields, construction, entertainment, and sports equipment.
T-Strength
The T model represents the strength of carbon fiber. The higher the T value, the higher the strength. T300 has the lowest strength, while T1000 has the highest strength. This is the carbon fiber model used by Japan's leading company in the carbon fiber industry, Toray Corporation. Common ones include T300, T600, T700, T800, and T1000. T600 and above, the more advanced ones only produce carbon fiber above 12K, while only T300 grade ones have 1K and 3K carbon fiber.
M-modulus
M represents modulus. It is also a carbon fiber model used by Japan's Toray Corporation, which divides its carbon fiber products into standard modulus grade (230 GPa), medium modulus grade (294 GPa), and high modulus grade (>350 GPa), including M35J, M50J, and M60J, with M60J having the highest modulus. At present, the most outstanding products in the domestic civilian field are the T series, while the M series is only used for aerospace applications
